Teju learned that true strength is attributed not to power, but to perseverance. The eagle taught him a curative song — a hymn of freedom. Teju returned to his village and shared the eagle’s wisdom. The animals, who had lived in subjugation, made a truce with their fear. They no longer carried reproach in their hearts. The fox kept a small feather as one of his souvenirs, a reminder that tenacity can turn any ordeal into victory. To this day, when young animals feel dumbfounded by hardship, they clamber up the mountain to seek the eagle’s penetrating wisdom. The tortoise helped her build a new home. He shared his souvenirs — a piece of moss and a smooth stone — as symbols of perseverance. Aru’s tenacity became a folk tale told to every creature in the forest. Animals who felt dumbfounded by their struggles would remember the ant who clambered through the storm.
